Greenwood Fishery (Warrington) 22nd March 2012
This fishery is set in a nature reserve, just of the A49 nr Warrington and it is a beautiful place to sit and watch your tip go round and your float go under. This great water is very deep in places and has a shallow side with plenty of dead trees to hold fish. There is a good sized car park, plenty of pegs, toilets and shower block, the pegs are large and there is plenty of cover if the wind gets up. I was fishing only six meters out and it was 7-8 feet deep, was fishing maggot and corn, got small fish but nothing special, popped on 6mm soft hook pellet, and the float went under and the elastic followed, small carp came up and that was the start of a great days fishing. The float went under on every occasion; it was Bream, Carp, Ghost Carp, Crucian Carp, Skimmers, and Rudd. The Rudd was of a good size as they were taking the pellet on the drop. The Bream were from 1-3lb, Carp 2-4lb, there is a very good chance I had 60-70lb, lost count of how many fish. Water Greenwood Peg 4 Tactics 1) Pole, six meters out in front on the bottom, 6mm sonu baits F1 soft hook pellet, feeding 2-4 mm pellets little and often. 2) Feeder, 20-25 meter, hair rigged 8mm soft hook pellet.
